About us
The Metsä Cottage is the result of its owners Mélanie and Maxime's passion for the Tremblant region. Mélanie, the founder of an interior design firm, and Maxime, a firefighter for the City of Montreal, share a common vision: providing stays that harmonize with nature. Together, they are parents to two children and place great value on outdoor family activities.
An Authentic Experience
After numerous stays in the Laurentians, they realized that few accommodations met their expectations. This sparked the idea to create their own cottage—an inviting space where nature lovers could enjoy an authentic and memorable experience.
Custom Project
In January 2021, Mélanie and Maxime found the perfect piece of land: an ideal location between Tremblant and Mont Blanc, secluded in the forest yet close to all amenities. Mélanie brought her talent and expertise in design to the project, creating a custom plan that reflected their vision. Two key criteria guided the cottage's design: expansive windows to immerse guests in the surrounding forest even while indoors, and cozy living spaces to relax in after a day of outdoor activities.
A Total Commitment to a Unique Achievement
Maxime, for his part, brought his hands-on expertise and dedication to the project. Building a cottage during the pandemic came with its share of challenges, particularly the difficulty of finding labor. Maxime took charge of managing the construction site from start to finish, personally contributing to every stage of the build—from clearing the land to completing the interior finishes.

A Dream Come True
In February 2023, just over two years after purchasing the land, Chalet Metsä opened its doors. Since then, it has quickly become one of the most popular accommodations in the Tremblant region, offering an immersive and intimate stay experience for nature lovers.
